Train the trainer- a cost effective option

One possible cost effective way for companies to train their engineers is to train key members of staff that will then be able to pass the information on.  These could include your Internal Support personnel, Area Engineers, Supervisors, Team & Project Leaders, or Engineers who spend a large amount of time installing and operating PAC equipment.  These personnel should also be given the opportunity to “top up” their knowledge with annual training programs at PAC.  This method ensures that companies always have a number of PAC trained engineers available without having to invest in training for everyone.   Training is not just about learning new skills and technology, it’s also about refreshing the old.

When to Train

The timing of the training can be crucial to its success.  If an installation company has won a contract to install a PAC system, then arrangements for training should be made immediately to have the engineers trained prior to the installation.  This ensures that the training will be of benefit to the engineer and to your client. Leaving training to a later date could be detrimental to the installation.

Knowledge required prior to course

The vast majority of PAC access control systems are administered via a PC, therefore a basic understanding of computers and Microsoft® operating systems is a  requirement, prior to all PAC training courses (with the exception of the Easikey 99 / 1000 course).

End User Training Courses- pre-booking checklist

To enable the trainer to cover all relevant features and to tailor the course to the customer’s requirements, we will send an end user checklist when the booking is confirmed.  PAC requests that this form is completed and sent back prior to attending the training course.  This training may be carried either at PAC or at the end users premises, although it may not be possible to offer any hands on training at the customer’s own premises.

Tests for Engineers

There will be a short test at the end of all engineer related training courses (further information outlined in “Training Courses” section) to enable the delegate to become a PAC Certified Engineer in a particular PAC product.  There is no limit on the amount of attempts given, so if you do not pass it the first time, try again.
